State Limitations: Credit Card surcharging is prohibited in: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and Puerto Rico. Surcharging is legal in all other states and should not exceed your effective rate for credit card transactions. Major credit card networks cap surcharge fees at 4% for all card brands except for Visa that charges 3% for US merchants. Colorado caps surcharge fees at 2%.	Scratch will work with practices to ensure that they’re located in states where surcharging is legal. All Scratch payment methods will automatically charge a 3% surcharge fee for credit card transactions. Scratch will not implement surcharging in Colorado.	None.
Disclosures: Clearly communicate the exact surcharge amount to customers before they make a purchase. Display surcharge information prominently at the point of sale and on receipts.	Scratch will provide signage. Scratch will help you update your PIMS receipt template so that the surcharge fee is clearly displayed. Scratch will include the surcharge fee on receipts, terminals, and payment links.	Display signage at point-of-sale. Work with Scratch to update PIMS receipt template.
